Among my Christmas presents this year was Silent Hill: Shattered Memories.
I've never played a Silent Hill game before, and being an intriguing concept and a remake of the first game, I wanted to jump on here. To cut a long story short, I played with Tricia yesterday for 6 hours. She wanted to start her own savegame to see how different it was.
The house is empty. We turned off the lights. Curled in the basement. Sighed happilly and reendured the creepy "I LOVE MY DAAAAADDEEEE" intro for her new game. As Dr. K gave her the psyche evaluation... something happened.
THE POWER WENT OUT.
Leaving us in the basement.
In the dark.
Pitch black.
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK.
Obviously fixed it, starting again. But GAH, scary ass shit. Now we start anew. No power explosions this time. She just finished the evaluation and is about to enter the town. ^^ fun times. *Hugs Trish and tells her it will be okay*

Watching Dark Knight--- I love this movie. Good way to spend a morning off of work.
Leave me a comment saying "POKON".
I'll respond by asking you five questions so I can get to know you better.
Update your journal with the answers to the questions.
Include this explanation in the post and offer to ask other people questions.
Bryan asked me:
1. How did you and Sarah meet? (I can't remember offhand, if I've even asked this one before...)
Online, we met on the Sonic The Comic EZGroup (which later became Yahoo! Group) and she was the one who posted that The Special Zone segment had been opened on the Mobius Forum, which lead me over there.
In reality, she was spending a semester studying in London and given that we were in close proximity, we arranged to meet up at Russell Square tube station, incidentally where you (Bryan) and I met up for that first comic convention with Xagarath that one November. Quite hilariously we stood next to one another for a good 15 minutes waiting and had no idea that the other was right there. I blush up in shame and embarrasement with that memory.
2. What was it that got you into Rush?
Well, dad always loved Rush since the 1978 Farewell to Kings tour where they played Hammersmith and he was taken to see them. He claims that Xanadu was the moment he was blown away. ---This exact concert is disc 3 of Different Stages, so I am able to relive his first memory in a way.
For me, though, the moment I took up Rush for myself was when I was suspended from school for lashing out at a teacher who was trying to force feed me. This week actually has a dramatic amount of impact on my life, as dad and I spent a week driving around the country, he had to work (he was a school photographer at the time) and so was forced to bring me along with. We stopped in cafes for breakfast/lunch, we spoke a lot, I learned about cameras and... he was playing a certain album over and over. It was late 1991 or early 1992, the Roll The Bones album was new and he had a tape cassette of it which he was listening to. He also had the Presto, Power Windows and Hold Your Fire ones, but Roll The Bones was new, so he played it a lot and he loved it.
To this very day, Roll The Bones is my favorite album.
3. If you could do any job in the world, what would you ideally be doing?
That's the hardest question in the world to me. I would once have answered photographer without a single hesitation, for the reasons listed above. And I loved my job at Mintel, so I wouldn't be opposed to it, but the entire industry has changed, every passing year shifts the focus of photography to the post-shot editing, and it's "photography" is just pre-photoshopping.
There's appeal to a lot of other careers, psychology interested me for a long time in my early 20's, but for now. I just want to ride the tide of life, see where it takes me. I really have been thinking a lot about it of late, as I'm starting to climb the retail ladder and it's making me think "Is this what I want to do for the rest of my life?"
No college, no defining talents. All I have is an unhealthy amount of enthusiasm and work ethic. These are useful things, but not specific things.
4. What's your favourite Indian dish (assuming you've had some before)?
Chicken Korma is my favorite, a nice yellow coconut milk sauce is always best. I am very flexible, though. When I was doing the TNMS Rush tour stuff we always stopped for a pre-show curry and I tried a lot of stuff. I love Indian.
5. Less serious one - When are you gonna pay us UK folks a visit again? ;p
When I can afford it. I'm hoping next year if possible, but I'd rather have a decent visit after waiting for a few years than a rushed one as soon as possible.

I'm homesick...
Watch this video and see why"
At least 2 people who read my LJ are IN this video, a number of familiar faces among them. I'm sure Ross, Rel, Ry and the gang were present.
It's heartbreaking to see a news report on all of my convention friends from England being part of something in my old backyard. I would have loved to have been with them.
Also, thanks to The World Ends With You, Oxford Circus being the Shibuya Scramble is fricken badass.
So, Cher. I know you were there. Hope you and the others had a good time, if you read this, let me know how it went.

I have a Livejournal, huh?
Well, I intend to update it. Work has been riding me a little, but I'm taking it in stride, I need to push myself to garner respect and appreciation to get my raise and I need the hours to pay for college next semester. My next paycheck is the only one I can use to pay for that, I am now "beyond the point of caring" and have stopped pushing myself 150% my capacity... this actually turned out to be a boon, when I'm calm and less gung-ho, I seem to do my job a lot more efficiently, with a lot less time waiting around (after I did all the sidework before 8pm) and less hesitance on decisions.
This Christmas week will be crazy, but as it is the aforementioned "have to pay for college" paycheck, the idea of working an extra day of overtime and 9-10 hour days seems appealing and a renewed confidence and competance makes it feel doable.
So here we go, into adventure.
Also, planning on doing a year retrospective again. Will be interesting to go over my second year in America. The third year's plot already seems to be spicing up, I have the promotion and with the lease of Fort O'Connor ending in two months, we're frantically searching up a new house, Steve and Kristin have a lead.
Also, LJ is moving out to Chicago soon. I am happy for him, as the place sounds like a dream come true, but I'll miss living in the same house as a giant Gameboy and a display unit Dreamcast. Ah well *Smile*
